but God is my strength, and He will be mine forever.
Psalm 73:26 - The Voice
This morning, my thoughts turn to the words of David in Psalm 62.
I must find my rest in God.
He is the God who gives me hope.
It is surely true that he is my rock and the God who saves me.
He is like a fort to me, so I will always be secure.
I depend on God to save me and to honor me.
He is my mighty rock and my place of safety.
Trust in him at all times, you people.
Tell him all your troubles.
God is our place of safety. (Psalm 62:5-8 - NIRV)
Though physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted, spiritually I am finding a measure of rest and strength in the Lord. I am also finding strength in the community of God's people. I am grateful on this Thanksgiving Day for the love and support of family and friends. The words of encouragement and assurance of on-going prayer from friends at Valley is truly a blessing. Please continue to walk with us in the days ahead. It is my deep desire to continue this journey with you, so I would ask you to pray for rest and healing grace as I take this time away from my pastoral duties. Stay connected with us and with one another. Continue to serve faithfully, give generously and pray fervently.
The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26), until we meet again.
