Guidelines for Use of the Building
October 2010
Guidelines for Use of Facilities
God has been gracious to Valley Congregational Church, and has given to us the use of this building. It is our desire, from time to time, to share this building with others who request our facilities for special occasions.
In order that the building is properly maintained and the uses are not in conflict with our church goals, a few guidelines are
required.
1. The Leadership Team will consider each request on a priority basis, after the requirements of our church are accommodated.
Members should contact the Leadership Team for approval / as a courtesy, before planning an event at Valley.
2. Those requesting permission to use any of our facilities will receive confirmation of approval, and notice of any charges, if applicable, and
must agree to abide by these guidelines, or any other conditions given.
Outside organizations are required to provide proof of liability insurance.
3. Any charges for the use of the building are applied to heat, hydro, janitorial costs, and for use of any equipment belonging to the church;
($100 -$250), depending on the rooms / services required.
Additional fees may include the use of an pianist or sound technician or custodian.
4. As much as possible, the condition of the building, (cleanliness, arrangement of furnishings, etc.), should be left as found.
5. Use of alcoholic beverages or tobacco products is prohibited in the churchbuilding or on the church grounds.
6. Arrangements for entrance to the building should be made with the church office prior to use. If equipment is required, arrangements
must be made in advance. Those using equipment will assume full liability due to misuse.
7. The use of these premises for the preparation / serving of food is normally restricted to members and their guests only.
